The price for a commission varies based on how long I think the piece will take me. The larger and more detailed paintings will cost more than a smaller, simpler one.

In general, I won’t do any commission for under $100 and my average range is between $150 and $300.

I will be very upfront with pricing estimates and will help to figure out something that works well for both of us!

After we agree on subject and pricing, I will require a downpayment to start a sketch.

After you approve the sketch I will require the rest of the payment before I start permanent work on the painting.

I’ll do an “almost done” check in to make sure you’re liking how the painting is looking and gives a last chance to add small details.

When the painting is finished, I’ll send you the digital scan and package up the original for shipping.

Please feel free to send me a picture of the painting when you get it! It makes me so happy to see my work in its new home.

I reserve the right to refuse a commission request at any time.

If I don’t feel like I can complete the project in a certain time line, or at all, I will let you know and decline.

If the style doesn’t quite fit me, or if I feel like the project would be better done by another artist I will let you know and try to point you in a better direction.

If I am uncomfortable with the subject matter or if your communication with me causes me to not want to work with you then I won’t work with you….you know…for safety reasons. :)

I also retain the right to use the digital scan of art created to promote my art unless those rights are purchased in addition to the work.

I am open in certain circumstances to work for trade or promotions. If you think I’d be open to it, let me know that in your notes on the form below.

I also enjoy working with non-profits to provide auction items and can do a limited number of those per year. Please let me know that in the form as well.
