The Very Serious Goose

This goose, the counterpart to the very silly goose, is just trying to do their job to make some bread. But geese aren’t supposed to be stuck in a cubicle all day and sometimes their silly goose nature gets the better of them and they just have to flap and squack and scream. This is that moment, with the shocked looks of horror and jealousy from their goose co-workers in the background.
Originally commissioned by my sister-in-law, Chloe, this painting depicts the many sounds one may hear out in the woods at night. The scene is formed around the layout of the Paris Opera house with a moon spotlight, leaf curtains, a cricket orchestra, and a bullfrog conductor. Crows wait in the wings to sound their applause as soon as the show ends and the sun comes up. Right now, you are in the moment when the coyotes have their solo, and the barn owls are staged up next. Take a deep breath. Enjoy the show.
