Murder Invitation

Originally painted on 12''x18'' watercolor paper with black ink, watercolors, and white acrylic accents

July 2024

When driving down Route 66 at night, especially in the Southwest, there are some fabulous hotel/motel signs and big beautiful crows everywhere.

I came up with the idea for this painting on my husband and I’s train trip across the American Southwest.

I enjoyed pairing the crow pun with the fact that most of these Motels look as though they may be luring you to your death, Murder Invitation is my imagined image of two different invitations.
